Mr. Olerich, son of the late John and Kathryn Schachtner Olerich, was born July 27, 1891, at Breda. He was reared on the home farm three miles east of Breda, where he lived until his marriage. He was married to Theresa Klocke in 1913 at Carroll. She died Feb. 25, 1941. They were the parents of five children, three of whom preceded their father in death. Mr. Olerich was married Sept, 2, 1954, to Geraldine Schleisman, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Mrs. Edgar (Hilda) Hoesing and Clifford Olerich, Carroll; the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Ed O'Tool, Lake City; Mrs. Nancy Hackett, Carroll; Mrs. H.R. Staats, California; Mrs. D.E. Sloan, Des Moines; Frank Olerich, Carroll; Earl Olerich, Lake City; and Mrs. Bertha Koppleman, Auburn; and four grandchildren. His son Vern died May 27, 1953, and his son Frank, July 28, 1950, Also deceased are a son, Wilbur, and two brothers, William H., who passed away Dec. 11, 1950, and Robert G., Dec. 9, 1942. Mr. Olerich farmed the home place for the first year after his marriage. Moving to Carroll in 1914 he formed a partnership with H.G. Olberding in automotive repair work. In 1920 he erected the building on North Main street now occupied by the Lockhart Automotive Service. He had the Chevrolet agency there from 1920 until his retirement in 1927. He has lived in his present home since 1920. Mr. Olerich was a member of the Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge.
