Description	:	Herold F. Bruns, age 93, of rural Defiance, died Wednesday evening at the Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Napoleon. He was born Jan. 1, 1912, to Frank and Ardena (Behnfeldt) Bruns in Defiance County. On Nov. 11, 1944, he married Frieda Rice, who survives. Mr. Bruns was a farmer and employed with Toledo Edison for 40 years as an agricultural engineer, retiring in 1977. He graduated from Ridgeville High School and Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering. He was born Jan. 1, 1912, to Frank and Ardena (Behnfeldt) Bruns in Defiance County. On Nov. 11, 1944, he married Frieda Rice, who survives. Mr. Bruns was a farmer and employed with Toledo Edison for 40 years as an agricultural engineer, retiring in 1977. He graduated from Ridgeville High School and Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving time during World War II with the 588th Anti-aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Adams Ridge, a former church congregation president, former president of the Ridgeville Mutual Telephone Company, served on the board of directors with the Henry County Hospital and volunteered with the hospital for 47 years. Surviving are nephews, Thomas (Judy) Schult of Perrysburg, John (Cookie) Schult of Toledo, Robert (Jane) Schult of Clarksville, Tenn., and David Schult, Perrysburg; a niece, Patricia (Chris) Storck-Parr, Plano, Texas; a sister, Lydia Storck, Dallas, Texas; a sister-in-law, Gladys Schult, Perrysburg; many great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nephews. A brother, Paul Bruns, preceded Herold in death. Funeral services will be Monday in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Adams Ridge, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Frey officiating. Friends will be received in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home and Crematories, Napoleon, on Sunday from 1-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
