| Description | : | Hollie and his best friend, Lee V. Clark, were swept away in their carriage while crossing a flood-swollen Back Creek. Young Mr. Clark was rescued, but Hollie was lost. At the time, he was the sole support for his widowed mother, Laura DeHaven. The day before the accident, his grandfather, Isaac DeHaven, suffered a paralytic stroke. The article detailing Hollie's death was published in the August 3, 1906 edition of the Winchester Evening Star.
