Description	:	Homer Campbell Goodrich, youngest son of Lewis and Eva (Campbell) Goodrich, was born September 23, 1892, south of Fairmont in Fillmore county, Nebraska. He died April 5, 1977, in the Fillmore County Hospital at Geneva, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 12 days. He died April 5, 1977, in the Fillmore County Hospital at Geneva, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 12 days. He was a graduate of Fairmont high school in the class of 1911, and also of Doane College at Crete, Neb., in 1915. He was married to the former Mary Dick, February 6, 1918, in Pamona, Cal. Born to this union were three sons and three daughters; Mrs. Willard (Evalyn) Foster of Geneva, Eugene of York, Dick of Pecatonica, Ill., Donald of Hastings, Mrs. Roland (Anna Marie) Hall of McCool Junction, and Mrs. Delvin (Carolyn) Roper of Omaha. Farming was the major role in his life, with a great love for livestock. He and his wife farmed in York county 53 years before moving to Fairmont three years ago. He was a member of the Fairmont Community church, of which he was a loyal member and faithful attendant. He was a loving husband and good Christian father and grandfather, setting many good examples for his family and friends, always more than willing to help those in need. He is survived by his three sons and their wives and three daughters and their husbands, 22 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; one grandson, Paul Goodrich; his parents and three brothers, Lewis, Herbert (Bertie) and Willard. Funeral services were conducted from the Fairmont Community Church at 10 a.m., Saturday morning, April 9, 1977. The clergymen officiating were Rev. Herbert Jackman and Rev. Delvin Roper. Music was furnished by grandchildren of Mr. Goodrich. Willa Foster was the organist and accompanied Tim Roper and Susan Shelbourn who played a violin duet of "Going' Home" by Dvorak. The congregation offered consolation by joining the family in singing those hymns, "For All the Saints," "O Love That Will Not Let Me Go" and "Abide with Me." Grandsons served as pallbearers, namely, Stan Roster, Philip Hall, Marcus Roper, Mark Goodrich, Bob Goodrich and Jimmy Shelbourn. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery, Fairmont, Neb.
