LeFurgey had a second edition TD-25 Crawler, still in the box, priced at $195. He also had a Ricky Judd collectors series Hot Wheels car for $3.79. LeFurgey started collecting and selling toys 12 years ago when poor health forced him to stop smoking cigarettes. "I needed something else to spend my cigarette money on," he said. LeFurgey and other vendors will continue to sell wares Sunday for anyone who missed Saturday's sale. OBITUARY Great Falls Tribune 22DEC2010: FORT BENTON Howard Eugene LeFurgey, 81, of Fort Benton, a longtime Loma-area farmer and Navy Seabees veteran, died of natural causes Sunday at a Great Falls hospital. His funeral is 1:30 p.m. Thursday (19DEC2010) at Benton Funeral Home, with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a gathering of friends at the Golden Age Center in Fort Benton. Howard was born Jan. 4, 1929, to Howard Ober and Katharine Lucille (Harris) LeFurgey in Fort Benton. He was raised in Loma and attended Uniondale country school in Loma, and graduated from Fort Benton High School in 1947. Besides farming, Howard worked for Chouteau County building bridges. Later, when working for Granger Construction Co., he helped build the Loma Community Hall. In January 1951, Howard enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seabees, training in California and Rhode Island. On May 21, 1951, Howard married Lois Belle Scott in Highwood. After being honorably discharged, they moved to the family farm northwest of Loma. After retiring from active farming, he became interested in collecting toy farm tractors similar to those he grew up with, and then into models of CAT tractors. While doing the collecting, he enjoyed participating in the toy shows, both buying and selling. Survivors include his wife Lois; three daughters ; a son; three grandsons; two step-grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lucille.
