LeFurgey, well known and highly respected Loma area farmer, passed away suddenly at the ranch home northwest of Loma at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, death being due to a heart attack. Mr. LeFurgy had suffered from a heart ailment for the past three or four years. Howard O. LeFurgey was born Oct. 31, 1899, in Tennessee, where he spent his early life. He came to Chouteau county in 1915 from Perry, Oklahoma, where his family resided. The family lived in the Colony Bay area. On July 31, 1926, he was united in marriage to Katherine Lucille Harris, of Loma, in this city. In 1934 he moved to his present ranch where he had resided since, but for the past few years has had to take it easier because of his condition. Mr. LeFurgey was always a hard worker on the ranch. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with old friends and made many new ones by a pleasing personality. Both his parents preceded him in death. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer LeFurgey. He is survived by his wife; one son, Howard E. LeFurgey, of Loma; two sisters, Mrs. Lee Beatty, of Whitefish, and Mrs. Robert Gipe of Great Falls; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held from the Benton Funeral Home chapel on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by the Rev. George Ritchey, pastor of the Methodist Church of this city. Burial will be made in the family plot in Riverside cemetery. The relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement. Contributor: cara (47072115)
