LeFurgey Katherine (Peggy) Lucille LeFurgey, 86, passed away early Saturday, Aug. 26, at a local nursing home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Benton Funeral Home with burial following at Riverside cemetery. Peggy was born Dec. 6, 1908, at Marysville, Iowa, a daughter of Elbert and Daisy Mackey Harris, the sixth of ten children. She moved to the Loma area when she was seven years old where the family lived on a farm northwest of Loma.... LeFurgey Katherine (Peggy) Lucille LeFurgey, 86, passed away early Saturday, Aug. 26, at a local nursing home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Benton Funeral Home with burial following at Riverside cemetery. Peggy was born Dec. 6, 1908, at Marysville, Iowa, a daughter of Elbert and Daisy Mackey Harris, the sixth of ten children. She moved to the Loma area when she was seven years old where the family lived on a farm northwest of Loma. She graduated from Chouteau County High School. She married Howard O. LeFurgey on July 31, 1926, at Fort Benton. They made their home on a farm further north of her parents' place until his death in 1960. For many summers she enjoyed working in gift shops in Glacier Park, especially Lake MacDonald Lodge. As one who enjoyed traveling, she took many trips across the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. The many gifts of needlework, crocheting and tatting attribute to her talents she shared with others. Peggy enjoyed playing cards and was an active member of the Senior Citizens and other community organizations while living in Fort Benton. Survivors include one son, Howard E. LeFurgey, of Fort Benton; sisters, Helen Stalcup and Maxyne Bessette, both of Loma; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. ..........
