All of these neighbors bear testimony of her patience and thankfulness for their ministration to her. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Hastings on Wednesday conducted by the pastor, Rev. Floyd Smith. The large attendance at the funeral services be spoke the high esteem in which she was held. The following obituary, prepared by Rev. Smith, was read at the funeral services: Ida Manervia Sears was born August 12 1868, in Red Rock, Ia., and departed to the heavenly home January 8, 1917, being 48 years, 4 months and 27 days old on the day of her death. She was married to Elmer A. Lemonds September 19, 1888, and for over 28 years made a loving and helpful wife. Her children five of whom died in infancy, and the three living, Stephen and William Robert of Ireton, Ia., and Ellen A.., who still resides with her parents, will ever call her blessed. She was a true mother and will be missed. Besides her immediate family, Mrs Lemonds is survived by her mother, Mrs Sarah Sears, two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Sheckler adn Mrs. Hattie Brackler of Nebraska City, Neb., and one brother, Douglas Sears if Bevraska City, Neb. While she had been a sufferer for years she was unselfish and constant-_____ _____ _____ ____ ___ _____ ______ ____ unable to make the acquaintance of a large circle of friends since moving to Hastings, those who met her were impressed with her kindly spirit and friendly smile. She was a member of the Church of God, being converted at Allerton, Ia., under the ministry of Rev Huttle. Throughout her entire suffering and especially through her last sickness she clung to her faith in the Heavenly Father and was ready to go when He called. It is all one house--it is all the father's home--and we and the dead but dwell in different rooms. Not into any far country do we travel in the awful moments whe this life is done--not through a shadowy and undiscovered land had the soul to journey that __may be with God--It is only the passing from one room to the other: a step through the veil into a brighter chamber--there is no facing of the storm or of the night, for we never are beyond our father's roof, and it was so the Ida Manervia Lemonds, when God called she was ready and willing to take her place in the mansion Christ had prepard in the father's house.
