She departed this life on Monday, December 7 1992 at 4:20am, in Colorado Springs, CO at the Mount St Francis Hospice. The funeral service was held at 11am Thursday, December 10 1992, at the United Methodist Church in Simla, CO with Rev Charles Hawker and Rev Ramon Robledo officiating. She departed this life on Monday, December 7 1992 at 4:20am, in Colorado Springs, CO at the Mount St Francis Hospice. Cremation followed and burial was at the Simla Cemetery in Simla, CO, next to her husband, Clarence B Pearson. Kitty met Clarence Benjamin Pearson in Korea while he was stationed there with the U S Army. They were married May 27 1966 in Seoul, Korea and plans were promptly made to come to the United States. They arrived September 12 1966 and made their home in Simla. Kitty studied and was tutored in the English language by Clarence and people of the community helped her learn American customs and cooking. She received her certificate of Naturalization June 18 1971 at the U S District Court in Denver, CO. She was indeed very proud of this accomplishment and valued her American citizenship to the fullest. In recognition of her citizenship she received two letters, one from the Attorney General of the United States of America and the other from President Nixon. For many years, Clarence and Kitty worked together, building a thriving cattle and farming operation in the Simla area. Kitty was an avid gardener, accomplished seamstress, and an excellent cook; talents which she very generously shared with others. She was an active member of Rebekah Lodge No 88 and the Rural Cooperative Association. She and Clarence together made professions of faith at Cowboy Camp Meeting. Kitty was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clarence. She touched many hearts and lives and is missed dearly by numerous family and friends. A fund was established at the Farmers State Bank in Calhan, CO for memorial contributions to the Penrose-St Francis Cancer Research and Treatment Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
