Clarence Benjamin Pearson was born September 21 1923 to Clarence A and Ruth (Smith) Pearson in Limon, CO. He graduated from Simla High School in 1942 and attended college in Colorado Springs, CO for two years. Clarence then entered the U S Army in 1944 at Camp Hale, CO. He served in World War II, in Italy and in the Korean Conflict. Other tours of duty were in Germany and Alaska. He married Miss Juanita Ruth Malloy on October 6 1946, in Simla, CO. To this union one child was born. Clarence and Juanita were divorced March 19 1949 in Hopkinsville, KY. After 22 years of service in the U S Army, Clarence retired at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. While serving in Korea, Clarence met IL Sun (Kitty) Yang, whom he married on May 27 1966, in Seoul, Korea. Upon his retirement, they made their home in Simla, CO. Among his many interests were dryland dirt farming, cattle raising, custom work, beekeeping, small engine work, antique collecting, hunting and fishing. Clarence passed away Thursday, September 11 1980 at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, in Aurora, CO. He was 56. He was survived by his wife, Kitty; one daughter, Donnis Martin; and three grandchildren, Stacey, Ronald and Curtis Martin; his mother, Ruth Pearson; one sister, Ethel Lamm; and two brothers, Albert and Robert Pearson. His father, Clarence Albert Pearson, preceded him in death. Donations were made to the Simla Ambulance Fund and the Heart Fund % Kitty Pearson.
