The following guests were present: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Leamen and daughter, Esther, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wesel and daughters, Dixie Lee and Rozann, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stroh and son, Jimmy, Mrs. Frances Picha and daughter, Lillian, and the honor guests Mr. and Mrs. David Stroh. The couple plan to make their home near Barnard. ============================================== The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, April 9, 1992; pg. 7 Iola Gayle Carlson, daughter of William and Lottie Shulda Vanous was born August 27, 1921, in rural Cuba, and died April 4, 1992, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebr., at the age of 70 years, seven months and seven days. She received her education at the rural schools near Cuba and attended Cuba High School. She was united in marriage to David Stroh, June 12, 1943, and one daughter was born to them. Her husband died December 4, 1981. She was married to Iver Carlson, October 10, 1986, at Hebron, Nebr. She lived most of the life in the Chester and Cuba communities and was employed at the Foote Cafe in Chester for many years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Chester and VFW Auxiliary of Hebron. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, her daughter, Helen, and one grandson. She is survived by her husband, Iver of the home; one grandson, Don Steinshouer of Chester; one great-granddaughter, Heather LeAnn Steinshouer of Chester. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 8, 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Chester, conducted by Rev. John Schaeffel. Interment was in the Chester Cemetery.
