Description	:	He moved to Ohio Co., now Brooke Co, VA, now WV, near Wheeling. Moved from Hampshire Co, VA (now WV) to the then western frontier area near Ft. Henry (Wheeling). 1782, summer: He and his brothers, Joseph and Jesse, enlisted in Capt. James Munn's Company of PA Militia and served in Crawford's Expedition. He was for many years a scout in the Wheeling area. 17 Mar 1787: Was granted a patent for a tract of land in Strabane Twp, Washington Co, PA, near the WV-PA line. 1794: Removed to Adams Co., OH. He settled outside the stockade at Manchester in Sprigg Twp. along Isaac's Creek, which bears his name. About 1790, Israel DONALSON, William LEEDOM, and Isaac, Asahel and John EDGINGTON emigrated from VA and were with the first white men who located at Manchester, in what was later Adams Co, OH. They assisted in making all the surveys between 1790 and 1795. They fought the Indians so long, as the Indian war lasted, and Asahel EDGINGTON was one of their victims. Came to Adams Co, OH, 1794. The first cabins built in Manchester, Adams Co, OH outside the stockade were those of Nathaniel MASSIE, Israel DONALSON, Isaac EDGINGTON, Job DENNING, Andrew BOYD, Andrew ELLISON, John ELLISON, John McGATE, John KYTE, Seth FOSTER, Joseph EDGINGTON and John BEASLEY. These were all in the vicinity of the Stockade. 1796: Settled in Adams Co, OH among the first settlers at Bentonville. The first settlers in what is now Sprigg Twp. were Isaac EDGINGTON, George EDGINGTON, and William LEEDOM, son-in-law of George EDGINGTON. About 1795, it is probable that the first to settle in Sprigg Twp, Adams Co, OH were brothers George, Joseph and Isaac EDGINGTON and William LEEDOM, son-in-law of George EDGINGTON. They located near where Bentonville now stands. 18 May 1796 [recorded date]: Sold his tract of land in Strabane Twp, Washington Co, PA to his brother Jesse. 12 Sep 1797: At the first session of the Court of Quarter Sessions of the Peace for Adams Co, OH, Isaac EDGINGTON, Aaron MOORE and Nathaniel WASHBURN were appointed Supervisors of Roads for Manchester Twp. 13 Mar 1798: Daniel ROBBINS, Isaac EDGINGTON and John McGATE appointed Supervisors of Manchester Twp, Adams Co, OH. Isaac EDGINGTON also served on the grand jury. Jun 1800: A petition to the Adams Co, OH court for a road from the crossing of Elk Run to intersect the Limestone Road at or near the residence of George or Isaac EDGINGTON (near Union Church, south of Bentonville) was signed by George ROGERS, Ezekiel ROGERS, Peter BILBER, Richard ROUNDSAVILL, John ROGERS, Nathaniel ROGERS, John AUSTIN, Wm. L. KENNER, I. DONALSON, Wm. MORRISON, John MORRISON, Joseph MORRISON, John GOODIN and Daniel HENDERSON. Oct 1809: Served on jury, Adams Co, OH. 1809: Isaac EDGINGTON, Sr, taxed in Sprigg Twp, Adams Co, OH, rate 2, 300 and 100 acres, land entered by Byrd HENDRICK. 9 Oct 1810: George EDGINGTON, George EDGINGTON Sr, Abraham EDGINGTON, Joshua EDGINGTON, Joseph EDGINGTON Sr, Joseph EDGINGTON Jr, Isaac EDGINGTON, George EDGINTON, and Isaac EDGINGTON Jr listed in poll book of election held in Sprigg Twp, Adams Co, OH. 1830: Isaac EDGINGTON and his wife Elizabeth, aged between 70 and 80, were residing in Sprigg Twp. He left a Will that was destroyed in the Adams Co, OH Court House fire Feb 1910. ("A History of Adams County, Ohio," by Nelson W. Evans and Emmons B. Stivers (E.B.
