Description	:	A long time Norma area farmer, Isaac Melin, age 86, died Thursday, July 23rd. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 28th at 10:30 am, in the Church of the Nazarene in Kenmare with Rev. William Patten officiating. Mrs. Patten was vocalist and Mrs. David O'Neill served as organist. Pallbearers were Kelly Gottschall, Alan Clark, Kenneth Melin, Curtis Kohler, Lynn Clark and Daniel Melin. He came with his parents to the Kenmare area in 1901, and was reared there. He later farmed in the area, and on July 14, 1923, married Gertrude Schaner at Fargo. They continued farming in Sauk Prairie Township, Ward County, near Norma, until 1960, when they moved In to Norma. Mrs. Melin died in 1968. Since December, 1980, he has been a resident of the Kenmare Baptist Nursing Home. Survivors include his sons, Robert, Mohall, and Francis, Palmer, Alaska; daughters, Dorothy Melin of Kenmare, Mrs. John (Winifred) Gottschall and Mrs. Carl (Helen) Schock of Benedict, Mrs. Arlo (Josephine) Larson of Mount Lake Terrace, Wn., Mrs. T. C. (Anna) Lee of Zap, Joan Vedaa of Stanley and Mrs. Murphy (Ellen) Clark of Powers Lake; 32 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;and a brother, Amos Melin of Kenmare. From the Kenmare News.
