In 1808, about the age of 4 years, he and the large family rode wagons, moving from Fayette Co., Pennsylvania to Jefferson County, Ohio where they stayed until 1826 when most the family moved to Coshocton County. Isaac married on the 12th of January, 1826 at Harrison Co., Ohio, to Sarah Stone, daughter of Jeremiah & Hannah (Reed) Stone. Mr. Isaac Shannon, brother of Mrs. Glover, whose death was mentioned in last weeks Age, died Friday Oct. 30 at his residence in Clark township at which place he had resided over half a century. Mr. S. was a quiet, peaceable, loyal citizen, a true christian, and beloved by all who knew him. He quietly and peaceably fell asleep on the bosom of Him he loved so well, and had served so truly and faithfully from youth up. His age was 82. He was interred in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Keene on Nov. 1. ------------------------- Many Shannon's received a strict Presbyterian / Christian up-bringing on large farms shared with eleven or more other brothers, sisters and many other family relations. At this time the Shannon family was literally huge, direct relatives numbering in the hundreds. The Shannon family is generally a very talented bunch, taming the wilds and adapting to about any conditions. They had many musicians, artists, inventors, builders, teachers, as well as their fair share of very respected farmers and business merchants in their history. They were almost always very religious as many other families were at the time and left a serious wealth of information at the churches near where they lived.
