McNeer, daughter of Elmer and Dora Overton Curtis, was born September 2, 1899 at Norwood. She lived most of her life in this area, living the last seven years in Chariton. Daughter of Elmer Curtis and Dora Frances Overton OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, October 1, 1984 McNEER Iva M. McNeer, daughter of Elmer and Dora Overton Curtis, was born September 2, 1899 at Norwood. She lived most of her life in this area, living the last seven years in Chariton. She passed away September 21, 1981 at the Chariton, Manor, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 82. She was united in marriage to Avery McNeer of Norwood on Dec. 24, 1919. To this union was born one son, Lorraine. She was a loving wife and mother. She was converted at an early age and became a member of the Norwood United Brethren Church, which is now the United Methodist Chruch. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Moses, and an infant sister, Florice. Besides her husband and son, she is survived by a daughter-in-law, Bertha; three brothers, Malvern and Dwaine of Indianola; Dwight of Liberty Center; and a sister, Dorothy Reeves of Chariton, 13 nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1981 at the Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton. The service was conducted by Rev. Eugene Koth. Burial was in the Norwood Cemetery.
