(Skinny) Stephens, 82, died Sunday morning, November 10, 1974 at the Genoa hospital following several months illness. The son of Parker and Amanda McKnight Stephens, he was born in David City February 1, 1892 and was married Jan. 1, 1917 in St. Edward to Ethel Yetter. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are a son, Earl P. of St. Edward; four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Roberta) Cahill of Columbus, Mrs. Arnold (Iola) Mahoney, Mrs. Warren (Jean) Miller and Mrs. Leland (Fern) Smith, all of St. Edward; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Boyer of Omaha; 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife in 1957, an infant son, his parents, a brother and a sister. The Rev. Delwyn Milander conducted funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 1974 at the St. Edward United Methodist Church. Larry Thompson sang "How Great Thou Art" and he and Mrs. Leo Werner sang "A Closer Walk With Thee." They were accompanied by Mrs. Tom Reardon at the organ. Pallbearers were Brad Stephens, Tom Smith, Mike Mahoney, Jerry Mahoney, Dean Miller, Bill Smith, Rick Mahoney and Paul Jaworski. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
