James was born on September 2, 1947 in Atchison, the son of Louie A. and Goldie (Snopak) Shockey. James attended Atchison High School and had worked as an arc welder for the former Rockwell International steel foundry in Atchison. Read More	James Albert 'Angel' Shockey (September 2, 1947 - October 10, 2009) James Albert 'Angel' Shockey, 62, of Atchison, KS, passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2009 at his home in Atchison, KS. James was born on September 2, 1947 in Atchison, the son of Louie A. and Goldie (Snopak) Shockey. James attended Atchison High School and had worked as an arc welder for the former Rockwell International steel foundry in Atchison. James was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed traveling, hiking, motorcycles and collecting knives. James and Thea Smith were married in 1979 in San Antonio, TX. Thea preceded James in death in 2002. James was also preceded by his father, Louie Shockey, an infant son, and his brother, John. Survivors include his mother, Goldie Smyth and her husband, Victor, of Atchison; four sisters, Diane Craine of Waldron, MO, Sandy Chronister of Riverside, MO, Willa Fowler of Pattonsburg, MO, and Louise Poplewell of Howardwick, TX; several Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Alvin Norton of Atchison. Mr. Shockey was cremated. Graveside services and inurnment will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Sumner Cemetery, 258th Rd, south of Atchison. Memorials are suggested to help the family with final expenses. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.
