Description	:	James A. Sailors, 64, in County Since 1870, Dies of Paralytic Stroke James A. Sailors, 64, a resident of Richardson county since his arrival here on March 8, 1870, died at his home in the south part of town last night from an illness following a stroke of paralysis suffered several days ago. Sailors, 64, a resident of Richardson county since his arrival here on March 8, 1870, died at his home in the south part of town last night from an illness following a stroke of paralysis suffered several days ago. Mr. Sailors had been a resident of Falls City for three or four years during which time he had been operating a merchants' delivery system. Mr. Sailors was born at Wabash, Ind., a son of John T. Sailors and Charlotte Lyons. As a young man he came to Brownville and later settled in Barada township where he spent many years engaged in farming pursuits. Aside from a few years spent in Hitchcock county, this state, he had made his home continuously in Richardson county. He was united in marriage first to Mrs. Phoebe Shane. From this union two children were born, namely Homer and Clarence Sailors, who preceded him in death. He was later married to Myrtle Sailors, whose death occurred last February. He is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Peter Brooks, Mrs. Charles Seimmering, Mrs. William Surman, and Miss Dolly Sailors, and sisters, Mrs. Celestia Murdock of Utah; Mrs. Charlotte Evans of Creston, Ia, and Mrs. Ella Slagle and Mrs. Emma Sailors, Barada, and Orna Sailors of Barada. The remains will be taken from his home at 802 Lane street to that of his daughter, Mrs. Emmett Brooks, 1-1/2 miles north of Falls City, to lie in state until 1:30 p.m. Friday when a short prayer service will be said. The funeral in charge of Rev. A.B. Cover of the Brethren church of Falls City, will take place at the Evangelical church in Barada at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be made in the Barada cemetery.
