Description	:	James Bodkin Howe was the son of James Howe-(1798-1856) and Temperance Brown-(1818-1897). He came from a very large family. His father was married twice, and had 15 children. (Unfortunately, his father's first wife died young). His siblings were: William, John, Margaret, and Mary Ann from wife #1, and then Jefferson, Letetia, (JAMES BODKIN), Martin B, Lucinda Jane, Archibald, Sylvester, Sophia C, Charles Wilbert, Phoebe J, and Henry M from wife #2. Read More	James Bodkin Howe was the son of James Howe-(1798-1856) and Temperance Brown-(1818-1897). He came from a very large family. His father was married twice, and had 15 children. His siblings were: William, John, Margaret, and Mary Ann from wife #1, and then Jefferson, Letetia, (JAMES BODKIN), Martin B, Lucinda Jane, Archibald, Sylvester, Sophia C, Charles Wilbert, Phoebe J, and Henry M from wife #2. Though it is not known why; James Bodkin moved to Canada sometime in the 1860's after he became an adult. It was there he met and married his first wife Julia Isabell Russ on January 15, 1867 in Lincoln, Ontario, Canada. From this union were born: Albert James-(1868-1936), Bertha Belle-(1871-1934), and Arthur Herbert Wanzer-(1874-1936). All were born in Canada. In 1876 he moved the children back to Jackson County, Ohio, but his wife stayed in Canada. They divorced a year later in 1877. Then on May 10, 1881 he married his second wife, Florence Patterson. From this union were born: Addie Elsie-(1882-), and Walter Guy-(1884-1974). Two others died in infancy, Grace-(1897-1897), and Paul Donald-(1903-1903). He died in 1906. *************************** His son Walter Guy, became a dentist and moved to Portland, Oregon where he married Frances Gilliam in 1911. They had two chidren: Robert Gilliam Howe-(1914-1991), and Dorothy J Howe-(1920-?).
