Description	:	James Howe was born in 1798; the son of William Howe-(1775-1825) and Mary Cooke-(1780-1819). He was the eldest of 11 children. His siblings were: Tracy-(female)-(1801-1881), Sophia-(1805-1876), Henry-(1809-1875), Rachel-(1812-1892), Margaret-(1816-1856), Elizabeth-(1818-1900), Jefferson-(1818-1897), John H-(1819-1858), William-(1820-1877), and Creighton-(1825-1883). In was in Ross County, Ohio where he met then married Phebe Tomlinson on April 19, 1821. From this union were born: William about 1821, Margaret about 1823, Mary Ann about 1826, and then John who was born Janaury 24, 1831. Sadly Phebe died giving birth to him on that date. Though Phebe was only 4 years junior to James, Temperance was 20 years younger. That in part gave her the blessing of 11 children from the union: Jefferson-(1837-1915), Letetia-(1838-1932), (JAMES BODKIN), Martin B-(1842-1909), Lucinda Jane-(1844-1903), Archibald-(1845-1918), Sylvester-(1845-1937), Sophia C-(1847-1920), Charles Wilbert-(1849-1931), Phoebe J-(1851-1890), and Henry M-(1853-1936).
