Description	:	James C. McLaren, the oldest son of James C. and Catherine Orr Johstone McLaren, was born in Cass County on October 28, 1885. He married Cora Erickson in 1911. She was the daughter of Joseph and Sadie (Shields) Erickson. She was born in 1891. They were both active in politics and community work. He married Cora Erickson in 1911. She was the daughter of Joseph and Sadie (Shields) Erickson. She was born in 1891. They were both active in politics and community work. One son, Joseph C. was born January 12, 1914 and died August 28, 1916. James E. was born July 1, 1912. He married Lola Bissell. He died April 17, 1978 and is buried in the Massena Cemetery north of Massena. Jack was born June 26, 1915. He married Rachel Devine. He died in 1986 and is buried in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Massena. Donald was born in 1917. He married Rosemary Casey. He died in 1974 and is buried in the Victoria Cemetery south of Massena. Catherine was born March 21, 1919. She married Marvin Jensen. She died in 1968 and is buried in the Massena Cemetery north of Massena. Kenneth was born September 20, 1920 and married Louise Jensen. He died December 3, 1977 and is buried in the Victoria Cemetery south of Massena. Robert was born April 11, 1923 and married Elizabeth Martens. He died October 28, 1986 and is buried in the Massena Cemetery north of Massena. Bruce was born in 1926 and married Donna Walburg. Margaret was born in 1929. She married Aldon Jensen and lived in Urbana, Illinois. James C. McLaren died July 29, 1962. Cora died in 1971. They are buried in the Massena Cemetery north of Massena. Atlantic News Telegraph July 30, 1962 Page 5 James McLaren, Massena, Dies MASSENA - James Cameron McLaren, 76, died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday at the Atlantic Memorial hospital where he was taken after suffering a heart attack. He was born October 28, 1895 in Edna township, the son of James C. and Catherine Johnstone McLaren and spent his life here. He was maried to Cora E. Erickson at Atlantic June 24, 1911 and farmed in Edna township. Surviving are his wife, six sons, James E. McLaren of Cumberland, Jack McLaren of Massena, Don McLaren of Atlantic, and Kenneth, Robert, and Bruce McLaren of Massena, two daughters, Mrs. Aldon Jensen of Urbana, Illinois and Mrs. Marvin Jensen of Massena, and two sisters, Jessie and Alice McLaren of Cumberland, and 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body will lie in state at the Hodges funeral home and the family will meet friends at the funeral home. The body will be taken to the family home Wednesday morning and funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Cumberland Baptist church with burial in Massena center cemetery.
