Glasco Sun March 2, 1950 Page 2: Obituary of James Dillon James Dillon, a member of one of Cloud county's most prominent pioneer families, passed away Wednesday, February 15th, 1950, at his home southeast of Glasco, Kansas, following an accident, probably cause by a heart attack or stroke. Jim Dillon was born near Glasco, Kansas, September 8, 1885, and departed this life on February 15, 1950, at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 7 days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dillon, Sr., who were among the first settlers in this section. They were industrious and honored citizens and the deceased followed in their teachings along this line. Jimmy, as he was called by all, attended the Harmony school and spent his entire life in that community. He will always be remembered by the family as a kind and loving brother and by his friends for his friendliness and loyal service. He leaves to mourn his passing six sisters, Mrs. Mary Driscoll, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Julia Boltwood, Glasco, Kansas; Mrs. Ella Kimerling, Simla, Colo; Miss Margaret Dillon, Glasco, Kansas; Mrs. Kathryn Richard, Aurora, Kansas; Mrs. Agnes Pilcher, Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Charles Dillon and Michael Dillon, both of Glasco, Kansas. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Nora Brady. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Anthony Bevak from St. Mary's catholic church in Glasco, Kansas, at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 1950. The Requiem Mass was sung by Mr. Leo Richard and Mr. Matthew Richard with Miss Ida Blochinger as organist. Pallbearers were Francis Dillon, Paul Dillon, Pearl Richard, Richard Fleshman, Oral Roquet and James Graves. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery at Glasco, Kansas, with Chaput Funeral Home in charge.
