February 25, 1875, he was united in marriage to Harriet Ann Ferrell at East Springfield, Ohio. To this union were born ten children. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Annapolis, Ohio, for six years, and moved to Beattie, Kas., in 1881. They then moved to Pawnee County, Nebr., living on a farm four and one-half miles northwest of Pawnee City for 15 years. In 1897 they moved to the Kansas state line for five years, then moved to the vicinity of Lewiston, Nebr., which was their home for 25 years. They retired from the farm and moved to Pawnee City in February, 1929. About three months before his retirement he was stricken with paralysis from which he never fully recovered. During his sickness he was tenderly cared for by his devoted wife, and everything was done for his comfort. For the past two months he had been failing very rapidly and some member of his family was constantly at his bedside. He bore his suffering with great patience, and his death was a blessed release from years of pain and discomfort that his sickness had brought to him. Mr. Story was a man of very quiet disposition and simple tastes. He was honest and upright in all his dealings with others, and observed and practiced the Golden Rule, "Whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, do ye also unto them." He found happiness in having his family about him, especially during the years of his sickness, and a little over a year ago he and his good wife celebrated their sixtieth anniversary, an occasion of much joy when the children came to share with them this great event. Mr. Story was brought up in the fine atmosphere of the United Presbyterian church, and after his marriage placed his membership with that of his wife in the Methodist Episcopal church. He is survived by his wife, his 10 children, William H. Story, Minneapolis, Minn.; Lola M. Kelly, Colony, Kas.; Chas. R. Story, Seneca, Kas.; Marion F. and Harry M. Story, Pawnee City; Mary C. Wenzl, Vermillion, Kas.; Bertha L. Miller, DuBois, Nebr.; Ethel E. Haywood, Ballantine, Mont.; Florence H. Sisco, Lewiston, Nebr.; Josephine H. Story, Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Miss Alice Story, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Maude Story of Pawnee City, and 17 grandchildren. The funeral service was held last Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church and was conducted by Rev. W. N. Wallis, assisted by Rev. George.
