Description	:	SUDDEN DEATH OF JAMES McDONALD The community was shocked last Thursday evening when the death of Mr. James McDonald was announced. Mr. McDonald had been in poor health for several months and for the past month or six weeks, was unable to take care of the duties of janitor at the grade school building. On Thursday evening about five-thirty o'clock he was sitting up in his rocking chair, and without any warning he sank back in his chair and life had passed from his body. Read More	SUDDEN DEATH OF JAMES McDONALD The community was shocked last Thursday evening when the death of Mr. James McDonald was announced. Mr. McDonald was janitor of the grade school for the past ten years, and gave faithful service. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. Harwood, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. H. N. Johnson, pastor of the Baptist church, and interment was in Evergreen cemetery. James William McDonald was born in Batavia, Illinois, on September 25, 1860, and died in Loup City, Nebraska, December 22, 1932, age 72 years and three months. He came to Sherman County, Nebraska, from Illinois, in the year 1880. In 1888 he was married to Jessie M. Knight, at Loup City, and made his home here until the year 1900, when they moved to Edgewood, Iowa, remaining there until 1920, when he returned to Loup City. In 1922 he accepted a position as janitor of the Grade School of Loup City, and gave the last ten years of his life to that work. Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie McDonald of Loup City, one brother, George McDonald of Loup City, besides many nieces and nephews and other relatives, among whom are Isaac and Roy McDonald of Loup City, Jno. McDonald of Morrowsville Kansas, Claude True of Kimball, Nebraska, Howder, Leonard and Alfred True of Arcadia, Mrs. Myrtle Camp of Arcadia, Mrs. Reina Wagner of Central City, Mrs. Minnie Travis, Mrs. Chas. Briggs, Mrs. Harvey O'Bryan, Mrs. Sadie Keith, Mrs. Elizabeth Shrove, Miss Charlotte Briggs, Miss Laura O'Bryan, Lloyd and Raymond Keith and Earl Shrove, all of Loup City. At he age of seventeen years he confessed Christ, and was baptized into the Baptist church in Batavia, Illinois. However, he was not a man who was content with professions of Christianity, he actively to the task of practicing his professions, living them out in life, and writing them out in character. ...(many paragraphs of praise)...
