Rev. M. H. Knobloch conducted the funeral rites and burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Jessie Myra Knight was born near Strawberry Point, Iowa, December 8, 1862 and passed away at her home in Loup City, November 17, 1942 at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 19 days. She came to Loup City in the year 1878, at the age of 16 years, with her parents, Lewis H. and Laura Jane Knight. On May 24, 1888 she was married to James W. McDonald at Loup City and they made their home here until the year 1900 when they moved to Edgewood, Iowa, remaining there until the year 1920 when they returned to Loup City. She confessed to Christ as her savior and was baptized in the Congregational Church of Edgewood, Iowa in the year 1902. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 22, 1932. Jessie M. McDonald was the only surviving member of a family of ten children, her six brothers and three sisters having predeceased her. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, and other relatives, among them whom are: Mrs. Charles A. Briggs, Mrs. Gracie O'Bryan and Charlotte Briggs Moore of Loup City; Laura Hancock of Grand Island, Mrs. Paul Travis of Pacific Grove, California; Alfred True, Orange, California; Claude True, Kimball; Reina Wagoner, Central City, Howder and Leonard True, Arcadia; Myrtle Camp, Gaston, Oregon; Fred and Orin Knight of Strawberry Point, Iowa; Emery Knight, Detroit, Mich.; Blanche Rowe of Oelwein, Ia.; Isaac McDonall and Elizabeth Shrove of Loup City, John McDonall of Central City and daughters Cleo and Opal; Roy McDonall of Comstock; Carl Shrove, Monticello, Ia.; Raymond and Lloyd Keith of California. Among the out of town relatives present for the funeral services were: Isaac and John McDonnall of Central City, Mr. and Mrs. Roy McDonald of Comstock and Mrs. Laura Hancock of Grand Island.
