Jantje Maria, nee Eppen, was born on March 3rd, 1865 at Sandhorst, Ostfriesland, Germany and baptized on March 28th of the same year. On April 6, 1879 she was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Aurich, Germany. On March 30, 1888, she was united in marriage to Albert Mueller (Miller) of Walle, Germany, which marriage was blessed with twelve children, of which one died at the tender age of eight weeks. Jantje Maria, nee Eppen, was born on March 3rd, 1865 at Sandhorst, Ostfriesland, Germany and baptized on March 28th of the same year. On April 6, 1879 she was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Aurich, Germany. On March 30, 1888, she was united in marriage to Albert Mueller (Miller) of Walle, Germany, which marriage was blessed with twelve children, of which one died at the tender age of eight weeks. On January 27, 1911, Mr. Mueller arrived in America for a visit with his brother, Henry, and decided to make his future home here, and his family joined him on April 3rd. They settled on a farm north of Gothenburg, where they lived until 1919, when they moved to town. About seven weeks ago she became bedfast. To seek medical aid and relief she went to Rochester, Minnesota, from whence she returned about two weeks ago. Her condition had been found hopeless and on Friday, February 24th, about 1:30 p.m., she died, quietly after falling asleep. The cause of her death was tumor on the brain and pneumonia. She leaves to mourn her: her husband, eight daughters: Mrs. Anna Cyriacks, Mrs. Minnie Lauer, Mrs. Jantje Franzen, Mrs. Johanna Franzen, Mrs Gustine Franzen, Mrs. John Junker, Mrs. Recus Junker, all of Gothenburg, Nebraska; three sons: Henry of Stockville, Nebraska, Albert and John of Gothenburg, Nebraska and from Germany three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at one-thirty o'clock at St. Johns Lutheran Church, conducted by Reverend C. Taubert. The services were larely attended.
