Description	:	Jennie Christian, daughter of Chris and Mary Christian, was born in Chicago, Ill., December 26th, 1872. She passed away at her home in Momence Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska, January 9th, 1951 at the age of 78 years and 13 days. When quite young, she came with her parents to Crete, Neb., where she grew to young womanhood. She passed away at her home in Momence Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska, January 9th, 1951 at the age of 78 years and 13 days. When quite young, she came with her parents to Crete, Neb., where she grew to young womanhood. She was united in marriage to Mark Hatcliff March 1st, 1893, and to this union were born seven children, four daughters and three sons. One daughter, Elsie, preceded her mother in death in 1939. Mr. Hatcliff passed away September 2nd, 1931. At the time of their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Hatcliff located in Momence Township. Fifty-three years ago they located on the present home site, where Mrs. Hatcliff has remained continuously. Mrs. Hatcliff had been ill for some time and for the past several months had been bedfast most of the time; but she bore her illness uncomplainingly and always with great appreciation of those, her loved ones, who so tenderly cared for her until the final release came. She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Spahn of Sutton, Mrs. Florence Isley of Grafton and Mrs. Alice Ackerman of Milford; three sons, Oscar, Lester and Arthur of Shickley. There are six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Christian of Crete; other relatives and friends. The funeral was held Friday, January 12th, at 2:30 at the Kritner Funeral Home with Rev. Maude V. Mann in charge. Mrs. Ferne Denton and Miss Mann sang the hymns, accompanied by Dorothy Ralston. The pallbearers were sons and grandsons. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal January 18th, 1951 page 7.
