Description	:	HATCLIFF, MARK—Mark Hatcliff was born at Ashby, Lincolnshire County, England, June 8, 1865. He came to this country when a boy, spending his sixth birthday in mid-ocean en-route to America. His parents located first at Lincoln, Neb., shortly afterward moving to Crete, where Mark grew to manhood. March 1, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Christians. For the last thirty-four years they have lived on the farm where he passed away in the early morning of September 2, 1931. Read More	HATCLIFF, MARK—Mark Hatcliff was born at Ashby, Lincolnshire County, England, June 8, 1865. He came to this country when a boy, spending his sixth birthday in mid-ocean en-route to America. His parents located first at Lincoln, Neb., shortly afterward moving to Crete, where Mark grew to manhood. March 1, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Christians. For the last thirty-four years they have lived on the farm where he passed away in the early morning of September 2, 1931. In this home were born three sons and four daughters, who with their mother survive him. The daughters are Hattie, who is Mrs. George Spahn of Sutton Neb., Florence, who is Mrs. Ed Isley of Sutton, Neb., Elsie, who is Mrs. Hilmer Swanson or Sharonville, Neb., Alice, who is Mrs. John Clawson of Grafton, Neb., and the sons, Oscar, Lester and Arthur, who are living at home. Besides his loving companion and children are one daughter-in-law and the four sons-in-law and six grandchildren to mourn his passing. Also, one brother Amos, who resided at Crete, the only surviving member of a family of eleven. Mr. Hatcliff was a highly respected citizen and had a large circle of friends to mourn his death and deeply sympathize with the bereaved family. Funeral services were held in the Geneva United Brethren Church, conducted by Rev. F. R. Wild. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. His age was 66 years, 2 months and 24 days.
