Wade Jennie M. Wallace was born near Hebron, Clarke county, Iowa, January 30, 1876, and died at her late home in Weldon, April 14, 1919, aged 43 years 2 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage to Mr. James I. Wade, April 15, 1905. She had suffered much from ill health the last few years, but ever received the sympathy and care of a kind and thoughtful husband. In spite of all her suffering, life was very sweet to her, and she was planning much for their happy future, but she was stricken with the dreaded influenza which resulted in her untimely death after a heroic battle for her life. Thus there has ended the life work of another splendid woman, a loving wife, a loyal and steadfast friend. The graces of her heart were many. Her virtues shown brightly in her daily life and despite her frail body, she did much to contribute to the comfort and happiness of those near and dear to her. She was loved sincerely and our grief cannot be expressed, yet we would not have missed in our lives the joy and happiness she gave to us, and the dear memories we have to think about. We rejoice that in her short, sweet life much good has come. She was devoted to her husband and in their beautiful home she was queen. She possessed an unusually bright mind and was a talented reader, being a graduate of the school of oratory at Highland Park college, Des Moines. Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Wallace. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her loss, four brothers, Frank C., John E., Fred E., Edgar H. Wallace, a half brother, and sister, G. W. Hall and Mrs. T. B. Jamison, ten nephews and nieces and a host of distant relatives and friends. She lived a beautiful life that was well worthy of emulation, a life that beamed sunshine into the lives of others. At a meeting held in Weldon, in 1908, under the pastorate of the Rev. J. G. Bourne, she with her husband, gave her life in open acknowledgement to her Savior, and on the 14th day of June, of that year, united with the M. E. church, and remained a devoted member until translated to the church triumphant. Althought afflicted so that her activities were limited she found comfort and surely in the abiding and precious promises of God, and her life reflected the resplendent glory of a redeemed life. Surely she rests from her labors and her works to follow her. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, on Thursday afternoon, at 3:00 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Larrick. Mr. Wade was not able to attend the funeral services. The deceased's five brothers, G. W. Hall, Frank, John, Ed. and Fred Wallace, and one nephew, Ashton Jamison, acted as pall bearers. Burial was made in the Hebron cemetery. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved ones. **** Card of Thanks.
