Jensen Houmark Jens Christian Jensen Houmark, son of Jens Jensen Houmark, was born at Ydby, Thisted, Denmark, August 11, 1851 and died at his home in Minden, November 9, 1918 at the age of sixty-seven years, 2 months, and 27 days. He emigrated to America in 1879 but returned again and was married to Miss Anna Katrine Christensen, April 18, 1884. Jensen Houmark Jens Christian Jensen Houmark, son of Jens Jensen Houmark, was born at Ydby, Thisted, Denmark, August 11, 1851 and died at his home in Minden, November 9, 1918 at the age of sixty-seven years, 2 months, and 27 days. He emigrated to America in 1879 but returned again and was married to Miss Anna Katrine Christensen, April 18, 1884. The same year they came to America and made their home in Kearney county where they have lived since. To this union was born fourteen children, seven boys and seven girls, all of whom, with the exception of one boy who died in infancy, are left with their mother to mourn the death of their father. Mr. Jensen-Houmark was brought up in Demark in the Lutheran church and continued in that faith all his life. He and his family were members of the Fredericksburg church from 1896 until about 1917, when they joined the Bethania Danish Lutheran church at Minden. The funeral services were held from the home at noon Monday and from the Danish Lutheran church at 12:30, Rev. J. P. Jensen speaking. Services were continued at Fredericksburg at 2:30 when Rev. H. P. Jensen preached in Danish and Rev. Bjork spoke in English. Rev. J. P. Jensen conducted the service after which the remains were laid to rest in the Fredericksburg cemetery. The names of the children are: Jens Jensen, Mrs. Anna Marie Warp, Mrs. Elsie Kristine Johnson, Harold Johan Jensen, William Christian Jensen (deceased), Willie Frederick Jensen, Thorvald Christian Jensen, Johannes Julius Jensen, Mrs. Mathilda Anna Johnson, Mrs. Nora Dorthea Hansen, Carl Chris Jensen, Emma Dusene Jensen, Agnes Katrina Jensen and Martha Augusta Jensen. - from "Jensen Genealogy 1851-1985" by Alicemae Jensen Prosser, June 20, 1986.
