Dr. Somers had been in poor health for the past two years, having previously suffered a couple strokes. Dr. Somers was born Dec. 15, 1884, on a farm near Toledo, Iowa, son of Aaron Burr and Alice Galager Somers. He attended school and Leander Clark college at Toledo, then went to the University of Iowa Dental school at Iowa City, where he graduated in 1915. He then came to Havre starting his practice here the fall of 1915. He had practiced in Havre 23 years. About two years ago he had gone to Columbia Falls, where he had remained two years, returning last fall to resume his Havre practice. Surviving are his mother, and two sons, Ross A. Somers, in the army air corps at Shaw Field, S. C., and Jack L. Somers of Havre; and two sisters in Toledo, Iowa. Dr. Somers, until recent years, had taken an active part in community activities and in politics. He served Havre as mayor for one term, 1928-1930. He was past exalted ruler of the Havre Elks lodge No. 1201, and was a 32nd degree Mason, and a former Kiwanian. Contributor: cara
