Fairfield Ledger Friday March 9, 1990 Jessie Makepeace Jessie Nelson Makepeace, 84, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Fairfield, died early Thursday, March 8, 1990, in a Tucson nursing home. The service is pending in Tucson. The body will be cremated and the ashes buried later in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield. Makepeace was born Dec. 31, 1905. in Charles City, the son of Fred and Florence Olney Makepeace. A longtime Fairfield resident, he worked many years for Cavinee Cement of Fairfield and was custodian of Roosevelt School. He moved to Tucson in 1983 because of declining health. He married Fay Kyle, who survives. Also surviving are three daughter, Marti Barton (sic. a/k/a Marjorie Barton) of Tucson, Joy Parrott of Mesa, Ariz., Julie Tate (sic. a/k/a Julie Ann) of Albuquerque, N.M.; 10 grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Burrow of Milton. A son, Rodney, a daughter, Marilyn Ewing, a grandson, a brother and four sisters preceded him in death. ----------------- Note: a daughter was Joy Makepeace Parrott. She was born Dec. 20, 1930 at Fairfield, and died Monday, July 7, 2014. A memorial service was held July 12 at Apache Wells Community Church in Mesa. Inurnment was at First United Methodist Church in Mesa. A/o April 18, 2017, no FindAGrave memorial has been entered for Joy, and this contributor is uncertain as to where exactly she was buried, so this bio/death information is provided on this memorial in case someone enters a valid memorial for her in a legitimate cemetery listing and wants to link her accordingly.
