Simons Funeral Will Be Monday Last rites will be Monday for Mrs. George Simons, Fairfield resident who passed away Friday at the Jefferson county hospital. She had been seriously ill five and a half days and in failing health for the past several years. The services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. H. T. Rasche in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Lura Maris Simons, 59, was born July 8, 1898, at Charles City, Ia., the daughter of the late Fred and Florence Olney Makepeace. She had been a resident of this community for over 50 years. She was united in marriage Sept. 13, 1947, at Fairfield to George Simons. Mrs. Simons is survived by her husband and the following children, most of them by a previous marriage: Helen Faultner (sic. Faulkner), Chicago; Paul Faultner (sic. Faulkner), Washington D.C.; Zelma Nemmers, Fairfield; Frank Adler, Jr., Price, Utah; Grace Harmon, Fairfield; and Marshall Simons, Fairfield (sic. Marshall Maynard Simons was a step-son; son of George W. Simons). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Burrows, Moulton; Florence Calhoun, Davenport; and Leona Beer, Des Moines; and two brothers, Fred Makepeace, Bettendorf; and Jess Makepeace, Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and a sister. --------- Note: Daughter of Fred Ernest Makepeace and Florence C. Olney Makepeace. Lura's obituary misspelled the Faulkner surname as "Faultner". Any clarifications and information about the whereabouts of her first husband and other children would be greatly appreciated. Marriage #1: Henry Harrison Faulkner, married August 1, 1914 in Fairfield, Iowa. Of the three children: Paul Laverne Faulkner, born Feb. 20, 1917 in Fairfield, Iowa. Marriage #2: Frank Levi Adler Sr., married July 2, 1921 in Ottumwa, Iowa. At least four children accounted for: Zelma Florence Adler Nemmers, Frank Levi Adler Jr., Grace Augusta Adler Harmon, Charles Edward Adler. Marriage #3: George Richard Avery. Exactly when and where married isn't clear. Information about this marriage would be appreciated. Marriage #4: on Sept. 13, 1947 to George W.
