Description	:	Jesse Raymond Henderson, Sr., 71, died at 12:45 Friday morning at the Lowman Home. He had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Earlewood Baptist Church by the Rev. C. W. Poston, assisted by the Rev. George Smith. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Henderson was born in Greenwood, a son of the late Robert E. and Beulah Traylor Henderson. He was a farmer for a number of years and late assistant jailer of Richland County. For several years he was a guard at the State Penitentiary, being retired several years ago. He was a member of the McCormick Baptist Church and a former member of the Earlewood Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. W. A. Plate and Mrs. Jott Copp of Columbia; one son, Lieutenant Jessie Raymond Henderson, Jr., of the Columbia Police Department; three sisters, Mrs. Hettie Dukes of Kingstree, Mrs. Mattie Burnett and Mrs. Ozie Wilson of Greenwood; four brothers, John, Robert, Joel, and Charlie Henderson, all of Greenville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be F. L. Hughes, W. B. Blanks, H. P. Lunsford, L. B. McCoy, D. M. Richardson, and M. L. Bachelor. Honorary pallbearers will be W. P. Quattlebaum, J. D. Leitner, A. C. Fitts, H. R. Smith, H. T. Metz, O. L. Shealy, Marvin Lever, Jack Goodwin, Robert Dennis, J. H. Smoak and Hamp Eleazer. and all members of the Columbia Police Department.
