Mr. Kolars was an auto mechanic and worked for the city of Lawrence for several years. He retired from the Kansas University buildings and grounds department in 1972. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Lawrence Masonic Lodge No. 6 A.F.&A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies of Lawrence, White Shrine of Jerusalem Fidelity Chapter No. 11, Adah Chapter No. 7 Order of the Eastern Star, Friendship Rebekkah Lodge No. 754 and was Past Noble Grand of Lawrence Odd Fellows Lodge No. 4. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Kay Clark, Estes Park, Colo.; two sons, Keith Lee, San Antonio, and Bobby Joe, Lawrence; a brother, Ernie, Cuba; a sister, Rose Plevka, McPherson; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
