Mr. Thomas had been in declining health for the past year and for the last ten days had been seriously ill, being moved from his home to the hospital a week ago for treatments. He was born on January 2, 1965, son of the late Malton and May Williamson Thomas at Sulphur Springs, where he had continued to reside during his entire life time. He was born on January 2, 1965, son of the late Malton and May Williamson Thomas at Sulphur Springs, where he had continued to reside during his entire life time. Mr. Thomas, who was identified as a successful farmer at Sulphur Springs remained active until the time of his recent illness, ten days ago. He had been a member of the Pleasant Home Baptist church for forty years and was one of the leaders of the various organizations of the church. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. C. Gray of Pine Bluff, three sons, G. H. Thomas of Monroe, La., G. E. Thomas of Jonesboro and Hughes Thomas of Pine Bluff, a brother, Walter Thomas of the Sulphur Springs community and six grandchildren, Miss Gladys Gray of Conway, Miss Junita Thomas of Jonesboro, Miss Marciline Thomas of Memphis, Everett Thomas, Jr., of Houston, Texas, Billy Boy Thomas of Jonesboro and Leland Thomas of Memphis. Burial will be on the family lot in Fitzhugh cemetery in charge of Ralph Robinson and Son mortuary. Active pallbearers will be: Gilbert Davis, Gus Petty, And Falls, Walter Baker, Coot Hewitt, E. M. West, Dallas Spharler Marian Wallace, Tom Watts, Tom Lites, William Ginnett, Frank Ginnett, Rev. G. E. Puckett, George Falls, J. B. Murdock, Dr. T. J. Cunningham, Carl Fall, Hollis Watts, Herbert West, James West and Tom Bailey. The funeral cortege will leave the chapel of the Ralph Robinson and Son mortuary, Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock.
