Description	:	Stratford Courier February 24, 1927 OBITUARY Mrs. Olof Nelson Johanna Larsdotter was born in Veinge, Sweden, Jan. 2, 1843. She was married in Sweden to Olof Nelson Nov. 25, 1868 and they came to this country in 1870. After residing in Des Moines for ten years, they moved to a farm south of Stratford where they have since lived. To this union was born six children, three having preceded their mother in death. Read More	Stratford Courier February 24, 1927 OBITUARY Mrs. Olof Nelson Johanna Larsdotter was born in Veinge, Sweden, Jan. 2, 1843. She was married in Sweden to Olof Nelson Nov. 25, 1868 and they came to this country in 1870. After residing in Des Moines for ten years, they moved to a farm south of Stratford where they have since lived. To this union was born six children, three having preceded their mother in death. Deceased was a member of the Swedish Mission church. She died at her home south of Stratford on Feb. 15, 1927, at the ripe old age of 84 years, 1 month, 13 days. She leaves to mourn her passing, her aged husband, three sons, Charles, Edward and Emil, all of Stratford, and two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Rose, of Stratford, and Mrs. Marie Lundberg of Staples, Minn. Also twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Deceased was one of the pioneer settlers of this section and she had lived to see a wonderful improvement in this section of Iowa during her residence here. She and her aged husband had a large part in the making of this section for it was people of their endurance to whom the real credit belongs for developing and making this wonderful section of Iowa. During her early years here she was a particularly active woman and always was willing to do her part in helping the needy or the suffering. Called upon to bury three of her children within the space of but a few months time, she bore her grief with true Christian courage and fortitude. Although she has gone to that better land, she will be very kindly remembered by many people in this section for her many kindnesses in the years that have gone. Funeral services were held from the home and from the Swedish Mission church Friday afternoon, Feb. 18, conducted by Rev. Stromberg. Burial was made in the Hardin township cemetery.
