Mr. John Platter ------- Mrs. John Nelson Died Suddenly The death of Mrs. John Nelson, on Friday Feb 9, was a terrible shock to the relatives as well as a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She was sick only a few hours, having attended the Chris Knudson sale the day before with her husband remained for the evening festivities. It was early morning when they returned to their home. As she was warming herself by the fire she remarked about feeling badly. In a few moments she evidently she felt that death was near for she said, "I am going to die," and from that moment was not able to speak a word. At 2:20 that same afternoon her soul departed from the body to realms beyond, where the sun never sets and the moon never shines, where the righteous forever shall shine like the stars in the Beautiful City of Gold. Johanna Marie Christine Nelson (Mary Jensen) was born in Husby, North Jutland, Denmark, on the 14th of July 1870. She came to America with her parents thirty-four years ago and with them located near Graettinger. On October 28, 1885, she was united in marriage to John Nelson. This union was God-blessed and to them were born eight children, three girls and five boys, who, with their father, are left to mourn her untimely death. Deceased was a true Christian lady. She was one who could always overcome misfortune. Mrs. Nelson was just in the prime of life and has been taken away when she was most needed by her loved ones. She was a dear, devoted wife, and a kind and good mother. What more could be said of her. She will be sadly missed by her family who were very devoted to her. The funeral was held at 10 o'clock at the home and followed by many friends to the church where the services were conducted by Rev. O. H. Bolvig, the Baptist General Missionary. Interment was made in the church cemetery. The most we can do is extend our heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing husband and children. No one but God can heal the wound made by death.
