Solemn Requiem services were held at Sacred Heart Church, Boone, Iowa, for Mrs. Johanna Lacey, Wednesday morning, October 31, at 9 o'clock. The Rev. James Duhigg was the celebrant, assisted by the Rev. J. J. Ryan and the Rev. C. E. Farrelly of Laurens, Town. Following Mass the remains were interred at Sacred heart Cemetery, Boone, by the side of the deceased's husband. The pallbearers were pat Lyons, Ben Moriarity, John McNetney, George Fitzgerald, A. Mestdagh and Lawrence Garvey. Life Sketch Mrs. Johanna Lacey, a resident of Boone County, Dodge Township, since 1877, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. C. Lindmark, Sunday evening, Oct. 28, at 10:30 o'clock. She had been in failing health the past five years, although she was able to be up and around until about two years ago. She was beloved by all who knew her and her days were made happy by the neighbors and friends who called on her the last years of her life. Mrs. Lacey was a Catholic Messenger subscriber for long years and in her passing the staff feels the loss of a valued friend. Born in County Kerry, Ireland, May 15, 1851, Mrs. Lacey came to America at the age of 18. She was united in marriage to Thomas Lacey in February, 1871, who preceded her in death twenty years. Seven children were born of this union, five sons and two daughters, Two sons, Thomas and James preceded her in death. Those Surviving Those left to mourn her passing are John, Patrick, Michael Lacey and Mary Lindmark, all of Boone county and Kathryn Shuey of Des Moines. Seven Grandchildren, a brother, Patrick Sheehy of Kansas City, Mo., who was unable to attend the funeral because of ill health, also survive. Those who attended the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Shuey and family and Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Lindell of Des Moines, Mrs. Michael Maher, Mrs. John Nugent and Mrs. Josephine Dressler of Kansas City, Mo., Miss Margaret McDermott, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McDermott, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Vest and daughter Ethel, Mr. and Mrs. John Shuey, all of Valley Junction, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gannon of Mingo, Mrs. Mae Carroll and Alice Maloney of Bondurant and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Schrader of Clinton.
