Jackson, Amador County, Calif. March 24, 1905 ----------------------------------- Obituary. John A. Vance, a native of Volcano, and for many years a resident of Amador City, died in Placerville March 8. He had long been a sufferer from paralysis, until death came to relieve him. An honest, upright man, he has left many friends who will be pained to know of his demise, For many years he was superintendent of the Starlight mine in El Dorado county, and his many acts of kindness while in tbat capacity won for him the esteem of his fellow men. A wife and two small children, an aged mother, and many other relatives are left to mourn his loss. He also leaves two daughters by a former marriage, Mrs. Bierce and Miss Patterson. He was a member of the Episcopal church, and his funeral services were conducted by Rev. Tuson of Jackson. He was bured in Taylor's cemetery.
