On the 1900 Jackson, Van Buren, Iowa census, I found farmer J C Edmondson, 58, born Nov 1841, IN born; wife of 31 years, Hassie A Edmondson, 60, Jan 1840, VA, had 5 kids, 3 living; sons: William D Edmondson, 26, Nov 1873, in IA and Charls (sic) H Edmondson, 23, Oct 1876, IA. John C Edmonson, was born in Knightston, Indiana. After he married Hassie, "they lived on a farm 5 miles north of Milton, Iowa, and raised cattle for markert.
