Description	:	Fred was born in Halle, Prußen, the son of Casper Oberhaus and Mary Elizabeth, nee Gröner. Fred's mother's died in Toledo when he was age 2 and is buried on the family farm in Toledo. In 1847 his father remarried, and so Fred was raised by his step-mother Marie nee Hunterbrinker. He had 3 helf-sisters and 1 half-brother. He married Mary Sophia Biederstadt on April 19, 1872, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Florida. They had 11 children.
