Description	:	Boone County Democrat August 27, 1914 The funeral of the late John Ehmann, who died Tuesday, August 18, 1914 was held from the German Lutheran church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Otto Erbe conducting. Many friends and relatives gathered which was evidence of the great esteem in which this man was held. Read More	Boone County Democrat August 27, 1914 The funeral of the late John Ehmann, who died Tuesday, August 18, 1914 was held from the German Lutheran church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Otto Erbe conducting. Many friends and relatives gathered which was evidence of the great esteem in which this man was held. Mr. Ehmann was born in Stelnveinach, Wurtemberg, Germany, May 2, 1850 He followed the trade of stone masonry and bridge work which was the occupation of his ancestors for generations. He emigrated to America May 27, 1888, landing in Boone, June 15th, which has been his home since. For many years he was foreman for the C. & N.W. Ry. Co. He leaves to mourn his loss a widow, three sons and a daughter, Carl, Fred and Albert Ehmann and Mrs. Chas. H. Goeppinger, all living in Boone and vicinity. All were at his bedside when the summons came. He had been ailing since the first of the year but was confined to his bed just one week. There were many beautiful floral pieces from the many friends who had gathered at both the house and the church. The Rev. Erbe used for his text Hebrews 6:9: “There remaineth thereto a rest for the people of God.: Mrs. Erbe sang the beautiful solo from the 23rd Psalm, “The Lord is My Shepherd.” Interment was in Linwood Park cemetery east, and the following friends acted as pallbearers: Messrs. Henry Von Krog, Sr., Henry Bockwoldt, Richard Grabau, henry Braklow and John Fick. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the many friends and acquaintances of their beloved husband and father.
