Dade’s Death Quickly Follows that of William Dade. Following closely upon the death of William Dade, Wednesday, at the home of Mrs. Frank Pyles, at Boyds, Md., John H. Dade, eighty-six years old, his brother, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James W. Darby, one mile from Boyds, late Wednesday night. Mr. Dade served as county commissioner of Montgomery County, several terms. He was a stanch Democrat, and even at this advanced years followed closely the lines of his party, and was a strong advocate of the election of Hon. Isidor Rayner for United States Senator. He was a son of Col. Robert Townsend Dade, who fought in the war of 1812, and went to the relief of Baltimore as captain of militia when the British made their invasion of that city. His grandfather was Rev. Townsend Dade, first rector of old Christ’s Church, in Alexandria, Va. Mr. Dade is survived by a son, C. Grayson Dade, of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. James W. Darby, of Buck Lodge, and Miss Anna Dade, of Charlotte, N.C., and a sister, Mrs. Henry Davis, of Baltimore. The remains of William Dade were interred yesterday in Monocacy Cemetery at Beallsville. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Frank Pyles, with whom he had lived for some years. Obituary The News (Frederick, MD) - September 15, 1905 John H. Dade, aged 86 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James W. Darby, at Buck Lodge, Montgomery County, Wednesday night. His death followed that of his brother, William Dade, who died at the home of Mrs. Frank Pyles, near Dawsonville, Wednesday morning. His brother William was in his seventy-sixth year. Mr. Dade, whose daughter, Miss Anna Dade, was formerly superintendent of the Protestant Episcopal Orphan Asylum, this city, was for several terms county commissioner of Montgomery county. Mr. Dade is survived by two daughters; Mrs. James W. Darby, at home; Miss Anna Dade, Charlotte, N.C.; a son, C. Grayson Dade, of Washington; a sister, Mrs. Henry Davis, of Baltimore, and a brother, Alexander Dade, of Kansas. NOTE: John's brother, Lee and his wife, Anne, went to Missouri where they died leaving three small children (Lee Massey Jr., Sarah, and Robert Townsend Dade). John Henry Dade went out there to bring the children back to Maryland by stage coach, horseback, and boat. Sarah went to live with her grandfather, Robert Townsend Dade.
