Description | : | -- CUMBERLAND,MARYLAND -- John Howard Lindner, 86, of Shades Lane, died Thursday evening at Sacred Heart Hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks. Mr. Lindner was a pioneer in Maryland beekeeping and he was noted for his prize winning honey and honey displays. More than 40 years ago he began renting bees to owners of apple orchards in Maryland and West Virginia, marking at that time an entirely new approach to full production of fruit and vegetables.
