Description	:	John Wallace Gibson, son of Henrietta and Hugh Gibson, was born October 1, 1878, at Empire Prairie, Missouri, and passed away at Holdrege, Nebraska, on July 20, 1957 at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 20 days, following a long illness. He came with his family to Fillmore County Nebraska in 1880, and from there to Edison in 1893. On September 4, 1909, he was married to Miss Frona Isabell Norwood at Beaver City, Nebraska. Read More	John Wallace Gibson, son of Henrietta and Hugh Gibson, was born October 1, 1878, at Empire Prairie, Missouri, and passed away at Holdrege, Nebraska, on July 20, 1957 at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 20 days, following a long illness. He came with his family to Fillmore County Nebraska in 1880, and from there to Edison in 1893. On September 4, 1909, he was married to Miss Frona Isabell Norwood at Beaver City, Nebraska. To this union two sons and two daughters were born. While a young man he was baptized in the Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in November, 1939, and also his parents, one sister, Nola Wilson, and three brothers, Charles, Roy and Ray. He is survived by his four children: Sarah Reynolds of Long Island, Noel of Kearney, Leora Weatherwax of Oxford and Duane of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Art, Will, Henry and Harvey; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Edison Christian Church on July 24, 1957, with the Revs. Albert Young and Ivan Campbell officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Jim Hayes and Mrs. Glenn Hayes with Mrs. Ella French at the organ. Bearers were Floyd Fewell, Orgel Girch, Emmet Maaske, Floyd Wetherwax, Wallace Best and Dale Bantam. Interment was in the Edison Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home, Oxford, in charge of arrangements.
