Description	:	Ray Gibson, 56, a resident of Salinas for eight years, passed away at his home, 16 Poplar street, yesterday afternoon following a short illness. Born in Edison, Neb., he had been employed by the Southern Pacific company here. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edna May Gibson; two sons, Harold R. Gibson of Edison and Hal R. The body will be forwarded to Edison, Neb., for funeral services and interment. Salinas Californian: 13 Nov. 1950 LAST RITES HELD FOR RAY GIBSON Funeral services for Ray Gibson were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Edison Christian church with Ivan E. Campbell officiating. Mrs. Glen Hays and Mrs. Jim Hays sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", with Mrs. T.V French as organist. Mrs. French also played soft organ music before and following the services. Casket bearers were Ray Phillips, Oxford; A.M. Hyde, Arapahoe; Lloyd Fewell, Orgel Girch, Robert Shafer and Irelee Leonard. Interment was in the Edison cemetery. Out-of-town relatives attending the services besides all of the immediate family of Salinas, Calif., were Wallace Gibson, Duane Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Weatherwax and son, Dale Gibson, Oxford; Frank Gibson, Lakewood, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Noel Gibson, Kearney; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beedle and son, Frank, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lincoln, Scotia; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Deselms, Wray, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Griem and Maxine, Holdrege; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Beedle, Dorothy, Shirley and Dale, Arapahoe; Gerald Beedle and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Hedstrom, Holdrege; Mr. and Mrs. Allie Bonham, Hendley. Obituary Ray Gibson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Gibson, was born on a farm near Edison, March 29, 1894, and passed away in Salinas, Calif., November 12, 1950, at the age of 56 years, 7 months and 15 days. All of his life was spent in and near Edison with the exception of eight years spent in Salinas, Calif. On August 2, 1915 he was married to Edna May Beedle and to this union were born four children, Harold of Edison, Rachel Stearns, Bernice Ervin and Hal, all of Salinas. He was a member of the Southern Pacific railroad union in California for eight years. He is survived by his widow and the four mentioned children; five granddaughters; five brothers, Wallace of Oxford, Arthur of Edison, William of San Mateo, Calif., Henry of Scottsbluff, Harvey of Edison, His mother and father, a sister, Mrs. Wilson, his twin brother, Roy, aged 3 months, another baby who died in infancy and a brother, Charles have preceded him in death.
