BRANSTITRE John Wesley Branstitre was born September 25, 1877, on his father's homestead two miles south of Edgar, Nebraska, and departed this life at his home in Edgar, Nebraska, September 30, 1940, at the age of 63 years and five days. On October 10, 1897, he was married to Katie Perry at Ong, Nebraska. To this union four children were born, Vera May, who passed away in infancy in 1900, Lloyd of Okmulgee, Okla., Mildred of Hastings and Mrs. Inez Kerstein of Carlinville, Illinois. Besides his children he leaves his wife, three grandchildren and four nephews, Ervin Branstitre of Edgar, Nebraska; Doyt and Clair Branstitre of Los Angles California, and Harold Hayden of Nampa, Idaho, besides a host of friends. Mr. Branstitre was a faithful and dutiful husband and father, an accommodating neighbor to everyone, a conscientious worker and highly respected by all who knew him. He had lived in Nuckolls County (sic) Nebraska, for 59 years. In the spring of 1936, he left the farm and moved with his family to Edgar where he resided until the time of his death. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, October 3, 1940, at 2:30 p. m. at the residence in Edgar, Nebraska, with Robert E. Hanson, pastor of the Christian Church (sic) in Clay Center, Nebr., in charge. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery (sic). Contributor: Jan Plambeck #46975511)
