He came to Kansas in 1895 and worked in the general merchandise store for L.M. Jewell. At different times in his life he was engaged in business at Highland Station, Kansas, Potter, Piper and at the present time had a store at Basehor, Kansas. He was married to Miss Elizabeth D. Calhoun, October 17, 1897 at Potter, Kansas. To this union three children were born: "Little Davie" who died in his fourth year at Potter, John D. Henninger, who died with the flu in Kansas City, Mo., December 15, 1918. Their only surviving child, Charles Leon Henninger, lives with his uncle, Leon Calhoun, and is in his 19th year. His first wife, Elizabeth, died May 21, 1902. He was married to Minnie E. Leighton, December 13, 1911, at Potter, who survives him. "John" as he was familiarly known among his friends, was a kind and generous hearted man and every one who knew him was his friend. He was a member of the Piper Masonic Lodge and was a past Master at Kickapoo No. 4 Masonic Lodge of Potter. He also belonged to the Modern Woodman and the Fraternal Aid Lodge of Potter, and the IOOF of Atchison and the ME Church South. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Minnie, his only son, Charles Leon, his mother, two sisters, five brothers and a host of friends and neighbors. His brother. Henry Henninger and wife, of Enid, Oklahoma, attended the funeral, which was conducted at the Christian church in Potter, by the Masonic Lodge of Potter, after which ho was laid to rest by the side of his first wife in Fairview Cemetery. The pail bearers were all members of the Masonic Lodge of Kickapoo, Kansas.-The Potter Kansan
