" Born Jørgine Olsdatter, at Nes parish, Hedmark, Norway on the 11th of Dec. 1843. She married Kristian Børresen from Engeskoug in Nes in 1865. Also, the names of her children Bergine Larson in Canby, Minnesota (not Anderson) and Mrs. Iver Opdahl is Hilda. Her daughter who stayed in was Dina Kristiansdatter lived at Høistad in Nes, and her son in Norway was Johan Kristiansen b. 1876. He married Agnete Johansdatter b. 1879. JORGINA CHRISTIANSON Mrs. Jorgina Christianson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Iver Opdahl, last Sunday noon, January 29th, at the ripe old age of 89 years, one month and 18 days. A general breakdown due to advanced years was the cause of her death. Born Jorgina Olson, deceased first saw the light of the morning sun at Ness Heidenmarker, Norway, on the 11th day of December. 1843. When a young woman in her early twenties, she was united in marriage to Kristian Doreson, to which union nine children were born. Her husband died in January 1902, and in the spring of the same year, Mrs. Christianson, accompanied by her youngest daughter, came to the United States, several of her older children having come to America previously. She settled in Lyon County, Minnesota, and lived there until 1910, when she came to Litchville and established her home here, living with her son, Bernt, the greater part of the time. Unable to longer fulfill household duties because of old age, she left town three years ago and went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Iver Opdahl, west of town. Mrs. Christianson is survived by eight children, two of whom still reside in Norway. They are: Mrs. Bergina Anderson, Canby, Minnesota; Bernt, Martin and Mrs. Iver Opdahl all of this community; Dina and John in Norway; Carl, Minneota, MN and Jorgen, Elbow Lake, MN. Kristian, next to the youngest of the boys, died at Chicago last summer. The funeral was held at the First Lutheran Church of Litchville at 2:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J. N. Dordal of Hastings officiating. Interment was made in the Bethlehem Cemetery, west of town. H.K. Seaver, local mortician, served as director of the funeral. Pallbearers were: T.I. Strinden, Iver Grimsrud, Haaken Oppegaard, Ole Vaarum, Peter Larson and John C. Haarsager. And thus another long and useful life is drawn to a close. May she find peace and quiet after her long life of labor and service to her family and friends. Published in The Litchville Bulletin, Litchville, ND, February 1933.
